Queen’s Birthday – UK

The Queen celebrates two birthdays each year: her actual birthday on 21 April and her official Birthday on a Saturday in June.

The day is marked in London by the ceremony of  Trooping the Colour, which is also known as the Queen's Birthday Parade.

This is so that the weather is good for Trooping of the colour, this was introduced by
King Edward VII, whose birthday was 9 November, but his official birthday was marked throughout his reign in May or June when there was a greater likelihood of good weather for the Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour.

The list of Birthday Honours is also announced at the time of the Official Birthday celebrations

It is not a public holiday in the UK
